Sale Price: $0.00 Original Price: $0.00

Politics is Urban celebrates the life and ideas of political theorist Warren Magnusson (1947–2025). During his long career, much of it spent at the University of Victoria, he influenced generations of urbanists and created new understandings of local self-governance. He wrote and edited several books, including City Politics in Canada (1983), The Search for Political Space: Globalization, Social Movements, and the Urban Political Experience (1996), The Politics of Urbanism: Seeing Like a City (2011), and Local Self Government and the Right to the City (2015), as well as numerous scholarly articles.

The seventeen contributors span all aspects of his life, from those who knew him personally, including former students, colleagues, and family, to those who only knew him from his work.

Together, their reflections make the case for the continued importance of his ideas, particularly for new generations of scholars who might not be familiar with his work.
